Essential Readings: From Employee Experience, to Operational Capabilities and the Importance of Analytics in the Workplace! This is another post for my “Essential Readings” series – as the recently published one was a German post. The series is intended to bring back some more “blogging culture” to this publication and curate and link to interesting sources from web that are related to our recent discussions and events. In this edition I am exploring further the my recent points of interest like the notion of the “employee experience”, the needed “operational capabilities” for the digital transformation and insights to good drivers for the transformation process. The employee experience: Culture, engagement, and beyond Though already referenced in my recent German take on the new importance of Employee Experience I like recommend this article from Deloitte’s Josh Bersin et al. It outlines the strategic importance of employee experiences as a holistic unterstanding with a consideration of the following factors: “meaningful work, the purpose of the organization, employee talent development and growth, rewards and wellness, the work environment, fairness and inclusion, and authenticity among management and leadership”. These Are The 7 Key Technologies For Digital Transformation Pointed out by Dion Hinchcliffe by the following Twitter remark: “Your #digital platform + #ecosystem strategies will drive your operational capabilities!” The linked article references to a WEF research on the key factors that drive the digital transformation. At the bottom line the author summarizes: “Finally, the research identifies the phenomenon of platform business models and how it enables the fourth industrial revolution. Fourth industrial revolution was the theme of WEF’s last year’s annual meeting. It presents a framework for the platform models with six elements, shown in the visual.” AI, analytics accelerate pace of digital workplace transformation My search query on the term “digital workplace transformation” led me to an article on DigitalNewsAsia yesterday – regarding the importance of AI and analytics as crucial factor to drive the business performance and the business transformation. Certainly we have to consider the specific cultural importance for the business performance in the Asian region – but this statement resonates with the contributions of Lee Bryant who mentioned the “quantified organisation” as key driver for successful change (see his slide deck from our last E20 SUMMIT in Paris!). The use of AI in the workplace needs more than ever a changed corporate culture Yesterday we have published a German post including an interview with Anja Wittenberger from AviloX on the effects of using chatbots as virtual knowledge assistents – that I would like to link here in the translated version (by Google Translate). The overall summary of the interview is: AI/chatbots are definitely changing the knowledge work but are far from putting humans out of work in the decision making processes – as decisions often need to take into account also non rational derived factors. In anyways – with the gaining grounds of AI and deep learning in the knowledge working space organisations certainly need a new corporate culture – as the humans can play out their cognitive added value in connecting new patterns. tweet share share share share e-mail rss feed The following two tabs change content below.BioLatest Posts Bjoern Negelmann Björn Negelmann verantwortet die inhaltlichen Teile der Veranstaltungsaktivitäten von Kongress Media und ist darüber hinaus auch Kopf des an Kongress Media angeschlossenen Research-Hauses N:Sight Research.
