Essential Readings: Research Results on Pain Points for the Digital Strategy, Levers for the High-Performance Organization & Measured Effects of the Social Intranet This is another post in my “Essential Readings” series with some recommendations on recent published and found research results that outline some insights on where to work on for driving the digital transformation (aka pain points to overcome), what levers to use for becoming a high-performance company (see also my recent German distinguishment of different approaches for the Digital Workplace Strategy) and what key effects are able to measure on conducting a social intranet strategy: Reboot Your Strategy For A Digital Age Our friends at Postshift have recently published some own research that is “based upon in-depth interviews with 18 Heads of Digital and CIOs, plus analysis of FTSE100 annual reports and an applied expertise”. As one shared output of the research the Post*Shift team has published an interactive Prezi presentation of the key pain points from the digital strategy assessment. One of the key factors in this summary is the lack of digital skills but also the capability to distribute the “digital strategy idea” into the company. How high-performing companies design their digital workplace: Video summary on some workplace design research of the Rotterdam School of Management with an interview with Nick van der Meulen (ex Rotterdam School of Management) – stating two groups of levers for high-performing companies: (1) design levers: physical & virtual workplaces, software & digital support systems, enterprise social media and branding campain, (2) management levers: facilitative leadership & systemic learning. One of my key sentences in this interview: “high performing companies conduct a more facilitative leadership style in which managers trust their employees and provide them with great autonomy to decide for themselves when, where and how to best conduct their work” Source: [https://www.youtube.com/embed/iX5buvMPzGE] Confirmed: internal social media drive engagement, save costs and time Referenced again by Dion Hinchcliffe I have been pointed to another study summary. The source is a academic research study and paper from Prof. Dr. Holger Sievert, Macromedia University / Christina Scholz, Continental on the “Engaging employees in (at least partly) disengaged companies. Results of an interview survey within about 500 German corporations on the growing importance of digital engagement via internal social media” that has been cited in a post on Speakap.com. One of my favorite statements in this summary: “In 2016, in comparison to the 2013 study, an increase of 10 percent of the interviewees agreed on all three positive effects caused by social media at the future workplace.” tweet share share share share email RSS feed The following two tabs change content below.BioLatest Posts Bjoern Negelmann Björn Negelmann verantwortet die inhaltlichen Teile der Veranstaltungsaktivitäten von Kongress Media und ist darüber hinaus auch Kopf des an Kongress Media angeschlossenen Research-Hauses N:Sight Research.
